This particular situation is with the new deck for my Wheel Horse garden tractor. However, it's got me thinking I should be checking the underneath of the 914A as well to be sure the grease is actually coming out of the bottom of the spindle.

Mike,
Seems to me that grease is kinda' like water, it will flow towards the point of least resistance. If one could somehow block off the upper escape route, it would be forced to try to escape elsewhere, hopefully towards the bottom.... How to achieve this control of flow is the question. (Get those brain cogs turning!)
