I have an early model either a 57 or 58 Ford 861D and it has only one return fuel line from the standpipe to the brass fitting that screws into the side of the block. I understand in 1959 and later Ford started using a standpipe with two return lines.

Other than cost can someone tell me the difference between part #311309 and part #B9NN6A035B? The fuel line on my tractor right now is a braided flexible line but the suppliers I spoke with are telling me their lines are steel. One supplier had both in stock but there is a big price difference between the two. Also, the length of the lines are different. I was told part #311309 was about 12" long and part #B9NN6A035B is about 19" long, which is the same length as my flexible line. He also told me part #B9NN6A035B was smaller in diameter.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks. Tom

Are you talking about the fuel line from the tank to the injection pump?

The high pressure fuel delivery line from the pump to the injector is steel. The fuel return line on my '63 2000 is a rubber hose. The fuel return line on my '65 is a pre formed plastic assembly. The fuel return line goes back to the pump and off to the fuel tank which is vented. There essentially isn't/can't be any kind of pressure on that line (to speak of) with routing back to the fuel tank
