5410 brakes dragging?

My neighbors 5410 had dragging brakes. I advised him to replace brake piston pull-off springs & piston o-rings which he did. After reassembly brakes still drag. Anyone have any ideas?

When reassembling the pistons in the final drive housings, he needs to be sure the pistons went all the way in until they bottom out. That assures that the piston is reset properly after brakes are applied. If he is sure of that, then I might suspect brake pedal stop screws might be out of adjustment, which would keep the return oil after brakes are released from returning to reservoir.

My neighbor stated he had pistons pushed in completely. I suggested for him to check the stop screws but I'll check to see if he ever checked the screws.

Takes special adapter, two service techs and if the pedal goes to the floor, leave it overnight, then two service techs the following day.. That gets one brake pedal adjusted. If the second one "goes to the floor", then they come back the third day to finish the job.

Hopefully that doesn't happen that way, but the cost just to adjust the brakes can get pretty steep.
