Anyone run a 5085m, 5095m or 5105m? I know most usere on this site run smaller cut's but I was wondering what pro's and con's that anyone had running this series of deere's. I am looking at a 5095m and a kubota m96s. I haven't made up my mind so I am trying to get as much info as possible from current owners.

I purchased a new 5105M in October from my local Deere dealer. Initially I was looking at the Deere 5105M, New Holland 5060, Case IH 105, and Kubota M9540. My uses are mainly for hay production and winter feeding. I've only got 30 hours on it so far feeding hay with the 563 SL Loader so can't really review the PTO. This coming spring I'll be spreading fertilizer, spraying, cutting hay with our disk mower, and baling with my JD 535 baler. I'll put it through it's paces then.
So far I've been very impressed. The 32F/16R Power-Reverser transmission is very nice, especially the high/low option. The cab was the nicest in my opinion of the four comps. The controls are right where you'd expect them. I also have the horizontal exhaust that exits under the steps and really like that option.
My dealer was great, which made a big difference when it came down to the final decision. If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to answer the best I can.

The 5095M is indeed a very nice and powerful machine. Lots of deluxe features. My son-law has about 10 hours on his, and I almost ordered one myself. Instead I opted for a JD 6330, with 16 speed power-shift, cab, and several add on options. I got the 673 loader, and a grapple also. I looked at quite a few tractors with matching power, apples for apples. I wanted a machine that my dear wife could easily sell if time came for her to have to do that, and not lose money needlessly. Yes, I got the green blood flowing once I got in a 7330 they had on the lot, and shifted that power-shift. I liked it, and bought the green one, somewhat similar, or at least in the same universe as a 5095.

Were I to buy new, those three would be my first choice with a PoweReverser trans. Not the SyncReverser.
Since I was not buying new, I looked at 5X20 and 5X25 series, but ended up with a 6415 series for about 7K less $$. Seems the 5XX5M series pulled the prices for used 5X25 series up with them. I did get a PowerQuad and LHR.

I'd be happy to try and answer any specific questions that you have.
The new "M" series from JD offers some features that were only available on larger machines. The switch to wet clutches is my favorite. They are very nice machines. So far we have had very few complaints and no troubling "trends" as far as service goes.
