It's time to replace the boot on my tie rods. (Both sides) I've never done anything with tie rods before so I want to check in with y'all before I start in on it. What I plan to do is:

1) Put the front axle on jack stands
2) measure the distance from the mold line on the back of the left tire to the mold line on the back of the right tire and repeat for the front of the tires.
3) Loosen the lock nut on the tie rod (white arrow)
4) Unscrew the threaded rod from the tie rod (grey arrow)
5) remove clips from boot and replace with new boot
6) Screw the threaded rod back into the tie rod
7) measure the distance of the mold lines and adjust the threaded rod until reading are the same as in #2
8) Repeat #3 thru #7 for other side
9) tighten lock nuts.

Am I missing anything and/or is there any thing I should watch out for? (I've not ordered the parts yet.)

Wonder if you are referring to the seals RE271457 as part key# 8 shown in jdparts?

I think from reading your post you have replacing boot under control. I agree item 8 is what I think he's referring to replacing
