I have a 4310 TLB, Thinking of trading. I started by looking at the 3720. Taking advice to check out the 4x20's

There really doesn't seem to be much posted of them. Are they that scarce? Or, do their owners never get back inside to even post?

Anyway, curious if there are any TLB owners who can tell about how well the backhoe setup works in real life.

I have 4520 cab with 448 backhoe. Works really good. Tuff tractor, lots of horsepower. Backhoe is easy on and off.. I would say though if I was going to do a lot of backhoe work I would look real hard at the JD 110 tlb. It is much more user friendly for hoe work.

Thanks! My biggest concern is the robustness of the tractor/hoe connection.

My hoe usage is way too light for a 110, although everyone needs one of those! Most folks wouldn't even consider a backhoe for my usage. But, I live way out and don't drive, so renting just doesn't cut it.

I have a 4520 and the 110 makes a great combination.

That must be it.... they're sleeping and eating in those cabs - and watching as much college basketball as they want! ;) The 4x20's have had some major horsepower upgrades beginning in '09 - at least the 4520 and the 4720. If not quite enough "iron" to be Utility machines; they've got enough Hp to be considered as Utility tractors!

The 485 backhoe can be ordered with an adjustable mechanical thumb, too. I've been waiting and waiting for someone to convert the thumb over to hydraulic operation.

You just want a bigger "footprint" 'cause you want one -- or, do you need something with more capacity than your 4310?

I ordered a 4720 with 485 and mechanical thumb a few weeks ago. My dealer called and said ti is ready to drop off, but I haven't scheduled a time yet. I will let you now what I think.....

Rockyridge, I just saw where you posted this. Have you made a decision? How have you been?
