I have a JD 4720 and have had a fair amount of trouble with it. Its 3 years old, and has 250 hours on it. I do some light field mowing and have it set up for plowing snow. I am a "lawnscaper", been running/ using equipment for 25 years. purchased this machine new with the thought it would be more than I would really ever need. In the past 2 snow seasons its broken down 3 times when I really needed it to remove snow. 1 st x it was an electrical problem in the dash, which took the dealer twice to fix. That was 2 seprate times out. The 2 nd x was this past Dec., had big snow and hooked up rear snow blower, and pto never worked properly. Dealer checked, reported 5 pto hp. proceded to install new hydro pump up front on side of engine, and then it needed a pto valve. All in all $3300.00 in repairs. My final cost $405.00, I was pleased, dealer said all checked out, good to go. Then Jan 31 2010 out plowing and machine breaks down again, in middle of county road, Yikes!!!! Hydro went out couldnt move. At dealers now. Any body out there having troubles like I am ? Ive had deere products for 25 years and I am getting very disapointed with this machine.
