I have a 1996 New Holland 4630 with 3 rear remotes. Currently they all detent into position. I want to remove the detent function so they are momentary only. I saw in the manual you can back off a set nut and adjust this, but it has no effect. I even completely removed the spring and it made no difference. Any ideas on how to remove the detent function? Thank you.

If I recall correctly, that is the way you do it. You can look at the parts diagram and see that the plunger (34, 35, 36) is probably stuck. You can take that screw assembly off and take a look.

Even with parts 34 - 39 removed the handles still detent.

Then I would say your detent mechanism may be gummed up, specifically 42-50.
