YUP!!

My wife and daughters DO drive my HST, but I am the one who really appreciates it. On my crazy hills it really increases the speed that I can work with my FEL.

But what I really don't understand is why anyone is buying non sync shifting machines when the reversers and hydros are so good. But that's OK if it makes 'em happy...

thanks for the tip about Tristate. Talked to Charlie on the phone today for the first time. He gave a great price first time. His price was < $300 over the other dealer's price for 4510 the same way! He seems like a straight-up guy also.

Southwest City, MO. For the last 70 years, I'm not sure where they were before that... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Charles has been there most of those 70 years...

Their full name is Tristate Hardware, and its an old time hardware store, with Green machines parked next to the bolt bins!!! They have a huge selection of the (small) Deere toys, too.

When I go there, or even call, they greet me by name, not because its their latest sales strategy.

Now, not everyone will like their setup, 'cause its small. They may not be able to do some things that a really big dealership can. But then the really big ones can't do some stuff (like give the most awesome price up front) that they do.
We really don't seem to have any rreally big dealerships around here, anymore. Since the farmers bloodbath in the '80s...

BTW, I live a short drive frim there, I did bot want to buy from a dealer that couldn't use for service.

It's still in Misery!

We struck a deal, but the finance lady won't be there til monday.

They are going to put the tractor on engine dyno. He wants to run engine at least 5 hours to make sure there are no problems with it. Is that a typical procedure?

They are going to touch-up paint on the loader. It is badly scratched/ gouged (to the metal) in several places. Dealer says that happened during shipping. He showed me several loaders still stacked from shipping, and I could see how they got mangled.

Also they are repairing the battery hold-down strap. The battery spit out some acid and caused it to rust.

I hope to go back Monday or Tuesday to get it.

That sounds like a good idea. I don't know if there are any issues w/ using sealed battery. I will probably replace it myself if they don't. I feel like I'm getting a very good deal, and don't really want to quibble over a battery.

I like Tristate Hardware. Dealing with a smaller operation really suits me well. The lack of selection (vs. BIG DEALER) is quickly countered by the experience of shopping / purchasing in that atmosphere. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
