My tractor has a electrical gremlin or something! It is a 4400 and will start just fine, run up in rpm's just fine but if I try to go forward or backward or try to engage the pto the tractor will die. It must be an electrical thing but am looking for some tips. It had been doing this intermittenly but is not solid. Thanks for the help

Sounds like the seat switch. You need to verify the connections to it are tight and the switch is being depressed properly.

As a test, you could jumper acrossed the switch terminals and see if the tractor still dies...I bet it won't.

Kenny, I assume I jump across the wires that run up to the seat from the back. Thanks for the feedback

Last time that happened to me I disconnected and reconnected it and worked fine. Must have got a clean connection when I reconnected

Well I tried to rehook and did the jumper trick and it did not work so I am back to the drawing board. There must be a wire getting rubbed somewhere also looking for any other suggestions. Thanks in advance.
