The loader on my tractor will drop going from center to lift, or if I hold the lever just right, I can get the loader to come down while pulling the lever back. It will drift down quit quick when sitting, running or off. I put the bucket up and disconected the hoses and in 3 days the loader didn't move. So my guess is the valves? Has any body rebuilt these valves, or am I missing something? Thanks

It does sound like a valve problem, more specifically-with the "load checks" in the valve. Their job is to keep the load from drifting while the valve moves from neutral.

Now for the bad news...JD does not sell any parts for the valve-they will only replace it or sell a replacement. Possibly a local hydraulic shop can help, but getting parts may be a problem unless you/they can identify the OEM of the valve-and seeing if they will sell you they parts-they often just refer you to dealer. Getting the valve off the tractor is a huge PITA also-it's not real easy to get to!

I believe he may have some debris in the valve, keeping the valve from centering. He mentioned something about holding the lever a certain way. Maybe take apart and inspect and clean, blow out all orifices.
