430 'chattering' when going up slope

It's impossible to fill the trans up on the left side of the dash, in that miserable small hose and watch the sight glass at the same. If you can get the oil in it without spilling some, you're a better man than me!!!! HA!
Yeah, that a really poor excuse for a fill point. After I had my 430 a few years and decided to change the trans fluid, I used a funnel with a 3" piece of heater hose pushed onto the end of the funnel and fit snugly into the filler and didn't leak while filling it.

As for the sight glass and hoses, I did not put the glass back in the holder, but attached it loosely to the side of it with a zip tie

My hose was dry rotting so I replaced it. The new hose is pretty clear so I simply bypassed the sight glass altogether and ran the hose through the "holder". Now it's easy to see it and I don't have multiple connection points, just the two.

I'm no better than you, I spilled the fluid!! In fact, my wife would agree that....I'm a dumbazz.

Question, are mower decks still available for these? I've got a small voice in the back of my head saying they rot out (mine is fine, I'm looking ahead). I had it off to clean it up and noticed some rust in the center section of it.

I discovered the pto shaft had frozen in place so took couple days of oiling it and finally a hammer to dislodge it. Had to take the wire brush to entire thing and it's working great now.

I too...used a funnel (though didn't use any tubing with it)..... still managed to let the funnel flip out spilling the fluid down the side...

Both of my rear seals weep transmission fluid and the inside of the wheels are constantly dirty where dust sticks to the oil.

Though I think I posted the following on the forum, I didn't think about the thread. I replaced both axle seals. You need to pull them out and the puller tool I have....bent. When it wasn't bending, it put a nick on the flat surface where the axle housing bolts on. I don't much care for that so went to plan 'B' and came up with the following pictures. 2-3 hits with a 3 lb hammer popped the seals right out.
