I have an early 70's 4230 and it won't move when in first, third or low reverse. Second, fourth and high reverse gears seem fine. Issue is the same whether in A, B, C or D range. When I let up on the clutch it feels like it wants to move but would stall the engine if the clutch was fully engaged. Have I lost low range? Is it possible to lose just those gears? Is it a possible linkage problem? Fluid level and filter are fine. I am clueless regarding transmissions and would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you for your thoughts.

Sounds as if when gear shift lever is in neutral trans is still in a gear. Will tractor try to move with clutch engaged & gear shift levers in neutral?

The 1-2, 3-4 and 1R-2R shifts are hydraulic. If it stalls in 1, 3 and 1R, it sounds like the Hi-Low clutch is seized in high range and therefore when low is engaged, high can't disengage. Sound like tractor needs to be split at clutch housing to repair.
