Mowing 42" verses 44" mower deck??

42\" verses 44\" mower deck??

Any opinions out there concerning how a 42", two-bladed mower deck cuts verses a 44" three-bladed mower deck?
I can't decide whether to get a CC GT2542, or a CC GT2544 Tractor? Any comments would be appreciated.

The 44" tends to handle the heavier stuff better. It's deeper and has a wider discharge. Love the cut quality and consistancy of my 44".

FWIW, I asked that question before and was told that in general the 42" deck was designed more for bagging, and the 44" for mulching.

Also, I believe the 42" only has 1 Smart Jet Deck Wash hookup, where the 44" and larger have 2: one on each side of the tractor.

I have the 42" on my 2180- get the 44". The cut will be better and if you decide to spend the money to bag, it'll do that well too.

My 42" is ok. But its way too shallow. I wished I could have upgraded the deck to a 44" or even 48". Both are really nice decks that cut very well.
