4120 hour meter switch trouble

Good evening all...

I just replaced the rocker switch (part # LVA12930) that switches hour meter/MPH on my gauges because the display was stuck on hours. Well after putting in the new switch, it's still stuck on hours. I disconnected/reconnected again just to make sure wires seated ok...still stuck on hours. I'm stumped, any ideas?

Welcome.

Without an owner's and/or tech manual to describe how to boot the onboard 'pute, I'm guessing it's an electronics problem, not a switch issue.

How about disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, then reconnecting it? That might boot the 'pute.

Hopefully that will take care of it; otherwise it sounds expensive. Is the machine still under warranty?

It's not under warranty...I'll try the battery disconnect - that didn't even cross my mind. It's not really a big deal and I'd rather have it stuck on hours if it's going to get stuck. I hope it works and thanks for the help!

You're welcome, please let us know if it works. I suggest you get a shop manual from Deere at https://techpubs.deere.com/ and I'd get it on CD as it's half the cost of the paper manual and you can print out as many pages as you need as often as you like, along with studying the manual on your PC after a shower, dinner, and a beer or two.

I don't need my manual often; but I'm sure glad I have it.
