Tractor
2007 4110 Mahindra w/ M112 loader and Kubota B2910 w/ loader.
Well the injector pump went out on my 4110 at 193 hours.
I was mowing the yard and idled down to get off to move a picnic table and it died. Checked the fuel filter and it looked to have a little water in the fuel but nothing major. Dumped the bowl and replaced the filter after bleeding the air aout of the filter bowl it wouldn't start so I cracked #1 injector at the cylinder and crancked it over no air or fuel.
The checked the injector lines at the pump no fuel while cranking.
another kicker is my dealer has shutdown. I'm hoping my area rep. will see this and contact me. I also sent Mahindra an e-mail so I'm hoping for the best. The tractor is only 2 years old and I've been really happy with up until now.
Could one of the dealers on here get me a price on a pump and are these any more complcated to change than a pump on an old Allis 7000 or 185 as I've done pumps those before.
Thanks
Jeff

Went back and tried to start the 4110 again, it fired right up. Guess the fuel gravity flowed enough to get a prime.
Finished mowing, ideled it down and didn't die, shutdown and started a few times. Guess I lucked out for now, I'll see next time I run it hard.

That was a close one...glad you got it fired up. Seems to me a rebuilt pump for diesels (Bosch) usually runs upwards of $1K. Are you using ULSD? Are you adding any supplements to the diesel? BobG in VA

I am pretty sure you didn't go through the correct process to reprime the system. I believe it is in your owners manual and quite different than many other diesels but very simple once you know how.

Yes, I'm running ULSD and adding Diesel Service to it.

I did the same prcedure as when I changed the filter before, only thing is when I pulled the injector side line off the filter housing to get the filter bowl to fill the line had no fuel in it.
There was some sticky gummy gunk in the filter bowl that must have plugged the old filter.
I read the bleeding procedure in the manual and pretty well followed it upto when I wasn't getting any fuel out of the pump then I cracked the injector line to try and bleed it.
The bleeding procedure in the manual is based on the engine starting and running then opening the bleeder valve between the injector return line and the feed pump. Did not see any reprime procedure in the manual, if I had that's what I would have done.
Maybe I didn't crank the motor long enough, who knows. Hopefully the pump will be ok. I plan on pumping all the old fuel out of the tank tonight and filling with new fresh diesel hoping that I can get the rest of the gunk out that I picked up from some where.

Maybe the book doesn't tell this, but kind of just above the injector pump there is a little valve and the handle is round and about the size of a nickel. You open that valve, turn it over till it starts, and when started close the valve and it is done. I am surprised that this isn't in the owners manual. I hope everything is fine now.

That is in the owners manual and what I metioned above but the manual has opening it after the tratcor is running.
Anyway I pumped all the old diesel out of the tractor tank and put new from the station in. It's running good at the moment and sure it will be fine.
Thanks
Jeff
