When I run the PTO, hydraulic fluid leaks from this hole. If I don't run the PTO, no fluid leaks. Is this a breather? Should something be in this hole?

Thanks

Looking at the schematic for the tranny case of the 4105, is it possible that the "cap" key #10 is missing?
Part # M808502

Looks higher up to me. Possibly #5 & #6 Plug and O-Ring.

Is the hole threaded?

You will need to top-up your transmission oil.

I think that is it. Thanks! I just got the tractor with 100 hours on it. I have to figure out if the cap fell out, was never installed, or if the transmission case is building pressure and blew it out.

I won't. I know there have been several threads about how not letting the group know about the results of problem solving went. When someone helps me I can't wait to thank them for expanding my knowledge and feel it is a partial payback because then others know the solution.

I installed the plug. It just pushes in with your finger. I guess the rubber coating is supposed to hold it in? Ran the brush hog for 4 hours today and about an hour yesterday. No leaks.

Good news and better late than never.
Thanks for update.
"...pushes in with your finger." does seem a bit too easy for a sealing plug but :confused3:
