Also comes with this 3-point quick hitch. The dealer said "they won't attach to many implements".
I've got that quick hitch on my 4105 and I've had it on the tractor, new, since '13.

It's just that all of the implements that you plan on using need a 'bushing' on the lower pins.

The quick hitch comes with the tractor, so it will be used it as long as X, Y implements fit on it.

We will find out about ag tires on Monday, or next week. The BH is in the 14K price range after the discounted its price $1500+-.

Here is the grapple.

There are three schools of thought on a backhoe

  1. Buy a Backhoe attachment for your tractor
  2. Buy or rent a Mini Ex
  3. Buy A a used Industrial Tractor Loader Backhoe for about the same price as the attachment
I like option #3

Knowing what I know now, after buying my brand new little TLB during the "supply chain" crunch ... And four years of ownership ...

I would have been much better off buying a used real backhoe, the kind that usually has a shade of yellow paint, or even a 2.5+ ton mini-X ... I just didn't really understand the options and capabilities ... I had never even used a BH before I bought mine.

I had 800'+ of ditch to dig, put in three culverts, I couldn't get a contractor to even return my calls, I had to get my driveway area drained and more product in, ended up buying just under a million pounds of rock and gravel ... A real construction grade piece of equipment would have made it much easier!

However, I'm quite heavily invested in my little homeowner grade TLB, and don't want to sell or replace it ... I'm quite satisfied with it limitations, for my use it's working out, soon to be retired and time won't be a consideration.

I can't use a 3 point quick hitch, because my attachments are all different sizes and many of them won't fit a quick hitch.

One thing I don't like about John Deere loaders is that they don't have the more universal skid steer type attachment. In other words, you can only attach John Deere products to a John Deere loader, unless you get a special adapter.
I myself prefer the euro (Called JD here). I find them faster. As far as skid steer, adaptors are available all over or you just buy euro compatible. I do both depending on the cost and product. I find I lose capacity with the adaptors but in most cases it doesn't make much of a difference.
There's also the Pats quick hitch (sort of). They are not as sturdy but they give you a lot more freedom on changing widths. I use that on my small tractor for hay rakes box blades etc.

I have a 4066M open cab. Plenty of HP. I highly recommend Ag tires. I had 4071 previously with turf tires---NFG on hillsides if grass is a little wet---you'll go for a ride that will be a pucker factor 9.

The bucket control, 4WD control and hydraulic hooks are cheapened from the 4071.

Hope this helps.

I was at our locale dealership today. Its a 2022 demo with 20 some hours and discounted. Still going around about accessories to get with it like root grapple and backhoe..
If you have 2 people, one to operate tractor and one to operate backhoe attachment, it works pretty good. One person doing both? Climb out of cab, climb on backhoe, dig for a few minutes, climb off backhoe, climb into cab, move tractor(10 feet or less), climb out of cab, climb on backhoe……..IME, you’ll be worn out before you get very much ditching done.
IMO, An older 4wd Case (580 series) or JD (310/410 series) with a 4n1, extendahoe and thumb would cost less and get the jobs youve described done. Bigger, yes. Intimidating, kinda, for a couple of days.

I'm sure the John Deere style of loader attachment is fine. It's just that I have 5 or 6 loader attachments that I can easily swap between my 2 Kubota tractors and my Kubota skid steer.
If the John Deere was the same as others, it would be easier to swap.

I wonder what the John Deere skid steers have? Is it a universal SSQA or is it specific to John Deere as with the tractors?

I have used SSQA quite a bit at my old job and did have buckets fall off while back blading. Nonetheless, with just a bucket an grapple being used, why spend the $$ for a SSQA front plate? Nearly all attachment manufacturers offer the JD mounts anyway AND they might stay on better. :)

Our township put R14 's all their tractors they really like them. They put them on there John Deere 6110M.
Are they actually R14's or the Nokian type highway pattern?

Goodyear/Titan R14's----------------------and a BKT ridemax very similar to the Nokian

I love the JD style quick attach for the FEL. It’s so simple and doesn’t add any weight. On a bigger tractor less of an issue than the smaller tractors. The only reason to not like it is if you already have a lot of SSQA attachments.

Nice tractor for sure. Ask for a field demo and work the heck out of it, and check for leaks. I bought one 5 years ago as a semi-retirement utility tractor after selling all my high horsepower equipment. From my and others experience, they're pretty reliable unless the one you get was built on Friday afternoon. And apparently that's what I bought. 275 hours and it's seen alot of shop time. I bought mine with all the options so it's a fun and efficient machine to operate. You'll like it.
