Well most of the planter is together now. The pic is from before the seed cans were put on. Ava decided to climb in the fertilizer box and play.
So far it has a new fertilizer auger, the bushings and seals on the auger, bottom cover for the auger, new pully to drive the auger, a couple new chains, bolts, belt and other little parts. The lid is almost done as well. I still need to adjust the spacing on the planter and set it for 30" rows and to install the fertilizer boots and hook them up to the bin. One boot is broke and I need to replace/repair it still. A new one costs $21. So far I have just over $500 in this planter (thats including the $40 purchase price).
One of the problems I am still having is the bearings for the discs on the fertilizer boots are both seized up and cost $65 each for new ones. I need to remove one and see if I can find another place that might be able to find one identical for less money. If not its only money
I hooked it to my Ford 640 today to be able to lift it up to adjust the row spacing but tried it a little and everything worked like it was suppose to and is the first time it has been ran in quite a few years as a lot of parts were seized up when I bought it. Once its done and the corn is planted for the year by everyone I will look into painting it up since Ava has already gave me the orders to make it look line the one new shiny part that had paint on it:laughing:
