The parts are real reasonable for this tractor. If the treatment I get is comparable to the the treatment I have had so far, I am sure they will take care of it. My preference would be for them to supply the parts and I provide the labor. I have the press and shop needed to work on this. Kirktold me to not be afraid of opening it up, he was right. It is very straight forward. I will be posting pics later.

Got all the parts. Almost $500 worth at no charge. A couple small problems, but I am sure Kirk will take care of it.

Will keep everyone informed.

I got it fixed. Took about 2 hours. Works good. My wife took lots of pictures. I am going to make a how to article. Maybe see if John will put it on his web page.

Very nicely documented. About how long did the total repair take??

Teardown was about 45 minutes. That was to find out what was wrong. It was hidden inside the gear so I couldn't see it. I just happened to grab the gear in one hand and the hub in the other, and it just did not feel right.

I the had to contact Norther Tools and receive my parts.

The actual tear down and rebuild was about 2 hours. That included time for pictures. Much of the cleaning was done during the initial teardown, but I think it would have only added 30 minutes.

Thanks again for the info. Ripping down a front axle on a 4x4 truck would probably have taken longer. It used to take me longer than that to change the U-Joints on my 4x4's frony axle.
