I have a diverter valve controlling a grapple on an M7040. It does not work the way I want, and I'm going to a true 3rd function valve.

J_J has recommended this valve for that purpose several times when the question has been raised here.

12 VDC 10 GPM OC DA SOLENOID VALVE

This valve flows 10.5 gpm. My tractor has max flow 11.1. Close....BUT, I've read in this forum you want any valve to flow what your max gpm that your tractor does. J_J in a private message says it will work fine, since you don't get max flow without max rpm and seldom do you run that....and I don't, not even close. The price is very reasonable, relative to other valve options.

Has anyone used this valve on an M7040? Does anyone see an issue in using giving the flow rates I mention? It does seem reasonable what J_J is saying.....but I want to be sure. I made a mistake buying this diverter valve, and I don't want to make another.

Most third function implements(snow plow, grapple)don't require a lot of flow.As long as you aren't trying to run a hydraulic motor you should be alright.
