Does anyone know where I can buy skid shoes for a woods SS74 3pt snowblower that bolt onto the side? They have adjustable shoes that sit center of the blower right under the blower propeller. The issue is that the blower rocks backward towards the tractor rolling cutting edge up. When you adjust top link so the blower is top slightly away from tractor it doesn’t roll back but it will cut into driveway or lawn. Pictures show the holes for the shoes (well I believe they are for shoes).

The holes are for skid shoes and I have them on mine. They were an option, purchased through my dealer.

Here they are listed in my owners manual. I can measure them tomorrow and give you the hole spacing to see if they would fit.

I just looked at the online owners manual for your blower and they are on there.

You can beef up your skids by welding about a 10" by 12" X 1/2" steel plate on each of the factory skids. And add angle iron skids on each side. Another option, is to put a pipe on the cutting edge. A lot of steel/machining shops up in our area sell 2" heavy wall split pipe that has about a 3/8" slot cut in it that you can slip over the stock cutting edge. I have one on my 6' blade and another one on my 78" blower. You can have them widen the slot, or you can do it yourself, it you need it wider. That keep the cutting edge from being very aggressive unless you are in mud/soft stuff ...I bought mine from Gaylord Machine and they have a whole pile of them. They put a lot of them on commercial plows....

How do they fasten the pipe to the cutting edge?

How do they fasten the pipe to the cutting edge?

You weld a couple tabs onto the pipe and bolt the cutting edge on. Each blade/blower is built a little different, so the tab is kind of a custom easy to make part. The pipe they sell at Gaylord Machine come with a premade hunk of 3/8" plate about 2" by 3", with a half inch hole in them. If my feeble memory has not failed me. They just make a big pile of the pipes by cutting the slot with a plasma cutter, and shear/punch out a big pile of the plates. You can get the plates with the pipe, or just tell them to keep them. But at todays steel prices, I would take them.
