3pt hitch haunts

Hi folks, I have a 1983 ford 1710 compact tractor, when implement is lifted in the highest position the equipment haunts (shakes), and when left in the lift position and tractor engine off it does not stay up, if loader is raised the same happens but takes awhile, this all started when the tractor went through the ice on one side had a backhoe lift the tractor out of ice and I think we forced the snow blower on the 3pt hitch against ice, any help will be appreciated, thanks in advanced

If you raise the 3pt up an shut off the engine and it descends over night, then the 3pt piston seals are worn or the 3pt valve is leaking.

If you raise the 3pt and shut off the engine and turn the descend/transport valve closed, and the 3pt drop over night, then the problem is the seals on the piston.

Make sure you are not placing the lift lever in that little notch at the top.

Good advise J.J. I guess next step is to take apart and fix, I thought it would be a more simpler solution LOL

It is a flow control valve as it relates to the 3pt.

That valve will control the descend speed or lock the 3pt in position.

That notch is not neutral, it is only used for auxiliary items such as a log splitter.
