Not sure they are called sway bars. But can I put another hitch pin in the second hole? And if I can, will it prevent any movement at all?

The reason I ask is when I have my carryall on the back, I don’t want it shifting from side to side as I drive. Will a second pin prevent that?

Thanks,

Bill

Yes they are called sway bars. Your pin is in the slot that is designed to allow for the lift arms to swing, be it limited but designed to give it movement. You should have some fixed slots that will line up if you wiggle them some right or left. If not and you must use the slots then you can use second pin in the slot. One piece of advice, you do want a tiny bit of movement other wise during the operation of the lift arms you might have a spot where they bind.

Thank you very much for your explanation. I think I’ll leave it the way it is set up currently.

Bill, you will find extra movement can allow an implement to have hard stops due to longer swings as the tractor travels over rough ground. However even it tight as possible there will be some movement. Depending on what you are using you want some slack in it, a disk is a good example as you want it to be able to move as it is being used in case it hits a stump or such. Would say a tiller would be another example as would be a rough cut mower. Have fun and be safe.
