3400 stalling

I have a 3400 gas powered that starts cutting out and stalls after being warm. can this be from points ?

I think the coil would be more likely ,if it were the points it would most likely not start.

Thanks, I have had the issue since I bought it a couple years ago, the previous owner never mentioned it but gave me a box with lots of unopened new points and spark plugs along with a full set of service manuals
. I never thought of the coil I see online they make a Pertronix electronic ignition conversion with a matching 3.0 ohm coil. I had the issue at 80 degrees and recently at 30 degrees pushing snow

Best of luck ridelght I'm not a mechanic just reply form my own past experiences. I have only installed 1 electronic ignition and it was on a chainsaw but was very simple to do. That may be a option for you and hopefully solve the stalling.
