Has anyone had problems with the governor on the Kohler Command 25? My 3235 is acting up and sometimes it stays at idle with full throttle and sometimes won't idle down when the throttle is pulled back. I haven't had time to really look at it but I sprayed some lubricating oil on the linkage which helped a little.

Mine has been finicky since day one in that idle speed has never been consistent, usually on the high side and throttle lever response basically goes; nothing...nothing....nothing and then max governed speed at the end of the throttle lever range. Basically I've got fast idle, max and little in between (2005 model year Kohler Command 20) The myriad of linkages and springs seem to move freely w/out binding and since I only use it a max governed engine speed, I really haven't looked into it!

First thing check the gov spring to ensure it is in the correct setting (go to kohler wen site for engine info)...spring could be broken or off the position...as far as idle there probably is a set screw on the Gov lever for the carb....again, refer to kohler web site for engine info...good luck!

Mine (I have an '04 GT3235) tends to get sticky when it gets dirty - I hit the linkage with Gumout once or twice a season and it keeps things moving freely.

I'll take a better look when I get the time. Thanks!
