Yep, surprised that it can be ordered from Sears.

I know of no repair manual for the shuttle cluck, but I do have the exploded-view parts manual, which is part of the dozer parts manual. I can email you the pdf file if you like.

Hi Bob, I think a few yrs ago you emailed me the parts diagram for the Jinma small dozer. My computer has since crashed an I lost it. Not sure if you will see this. let me know if you can still help me out. I think my hydraulic pump went and need to figure out best approach to getting to it.

Thanks

DAN

Well, I will acquiesce for the sake of brevity.
Metal against metal without lubrication is wrong. Here is the Yuchai steering clutch. The early steering clutches had riveted friction media, the later have the bonded sintered bronze composite which are considerably thinner, hence seven instead of five. #15 is just a spacer/washer. You have to remember that many parts sales people have never even seen the parts they are selling.

Hi Bob, Again hoping you are still seeing these posts. So let me give u the break down of what happened. My machine has now sat for about 2 yrs now. Last I used it I was grading a trench with the blade and a York rake. The longer I used it the slower it got until it would barley move. Acted like the transmission was hot. I let it cool down and the while loading on trailer I heard what sounded like a pin or maybe a keyway brake and then nothing. All blade funtions are working and also the pto and 3pt hitch. no forward or reverse. Had to tow it up on trailer. Really not sure where to start. Any suggestions would be great. This is the 3 cyl dt326 st model. I opened up the shifter covers and found a fair amount of metal floating around in there as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks again

Dan

Hi All,

Rather than start a new thread i thought that it was better to continue this one as it is the closest i have found that is the same as what i have been going through.

I am located in Australia and working on an East Wind YCT-306 3 Ton Bulldozer also known by many other names.

The dozer has had a steering problem sometimes it would have no drive on one side, and when you did get it to engage it would feel as if it had a bearing failure (notchy)

So far i have lifted the ROPS and removed the gearbox from the clutch housing out the back of the unit. I have also removed the final drive units.

Hoping that some more people have done this and interested in there input.

Pictures so far,

Pictures so far,

Check the short drive shaft on the side that slips. They can sometimes break if you are steering with a load in front of you. It may be stuck in the final drive and just slipping by. It is a fairly short shaft. I dont believe that the main gear box is the problem, but pop the cover off and check for metal shavings or chunks in there as well. The one picture with the large nut has a crack around the nut. Is this the side with the issue?

Thanks Gigity,
The nut that looks like it has turned has silicon on it. Still trying to remove the nut, pushing the punched bit back out is proving harder than normal for this sort of thing. Is the short drive shaft you are referring to the one i am trying to remove the nut from ?

The groves warn in the brake drum are not what i was expecting, the worn part should be in the slots not on the top of them meaning the inner clutch plate is rubbing on the brake drum maybe ?

MurBah, you obviously have a oil seal that has failed. The steering clutch/brake compartment should be completely dry. The worn areas on the splines of the brake drum are normal for a dozer that does a lot of turning while pushing.
The shaft that Giggity is referring to is the shaft in the final drive. See pics.

The other concern is the possibility of a crack in the brake drum. See in red circle.

Nice job so far and thanks for the pics. I just got a nortrac dozer and at some point in the future i expect to be diving into the steering clutches.
