I finally found a toolbox that is big enough. It started as a carry all from farm & country. I cut a foot off the lower legs and installed a 2” receiver to pull a trailer or wagon. I then made a frame to hold the toolbox also purchased from farm & country and made a small basket in front to hold chainsaw gas and oil or chains. I also installed two chunks of 3” pvc pipe to hold splitting mauls or shovels ect. So now when I go back into the woods to cut firewood I can keep the saws and other equipment in the toolbox and maul, cant hook and stuff on the outside plus use the top of the box as a bench.

Great idea Kevin, especially for something like wood cutting with sledge, wedges, chains, etc. I think I'll make up something similar.

Looks nice Kevin! Is the tool box bolted to the frame or is it just sitting in the frame? It would be nice for a cooler also.

Right now it just sits in the frame, I may tie it down later. I didn't bolt it down with the thought that if I back into something, it may just slide up and out of the frame rather that get crushed.

Great idea...better than putting equipment in the FEL.

Looks like you got a good helper w/you. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Kevin, that's just proof that there is no end to the list of good things to do with a tractor. It looks like you have just found another one. Nice job!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Bob,I would guess it to weigh about 125-150 pounds. I didn't have any considerations as far as FEL weight offset.

The box looks good but I do have one guestion, Why? Why did you need this toolbox. If you are using any other 3p tool or equipment, the toolbox is sitting not on your tractor. Just wondering?

This was actually built for the porpose of going back into the woods to cut firewood. It is something to keep all the saws, tools, safety equipment and such all together. I figure any other use would just be a bonus.
