I own a JD 3720 Rops. I want to buy the proper sized sprayer. How many gallons can I go?

Welcome to TBN

Putting a tank on your 3pt would be limited by the counter weight added to the front end. Your manual should indicate the lift capacity of the 3pt, so depends on what that is in gallons figuring 8lbs to the gallon for approximate weight. Add some for the sprayer frame.

Give out some info on what you have now, and what acreage you want to spray, and if you plan on a boom sprayer, or orchard-type sprayer. All could help with some answers for you.

Better question is how much you need to spray. A 50 gal sprayer should get you 4-5 acres before you need to refill. I would recommend going a boom sprayer over the more popular boom-less nozzle ones. The smaller droplets offer much better coverage while using less product.

So I have 28 acres with about 23 acres of open and treed pasture. Ive got a small 1/2 acre bait pond so about 22 acres that need to be sprayed so we can improve the grass available for our goats, couple horses and a few heifers.

Ive got a John Deere 3720 tractor. The lift capacity is just over 3000 lbs. I was thinking i couldnt go more than a 100 gallon sprayer as ive got a couple dips on my property.

100 gal sprayer should work well for you.
Make it iMatch compatible and attaching it from its storage spot should make it quick and easy.

I agree 100 gal would probably be the best fit for your situation if you are intending on spraying more then 5 ac. at a time. If 5 ac or less is going to be the norm with the occasional 5+ ac. then I would get the 50 gal sprayer.

Reason being is because it is much easier to spray with a full 50 gal tank then it is with a 100 gal tank half full. Once the fluid level gets low the water will slosh in the tank or an side slope can cause the pump to lose prime and your spraying will become sporadic and intermittent.
