3-point log splitter

I have a set of rear remotes on my Mahindra 5500 4x4, when using a log splitter I am guessing that I have to tie back the rear remote valve and use the valve on the log splitting unit. Now I have read where people having problems with an open center or closed center valve, if i buy a 3-point log splitter, which is the correct valve to have, open or closed center??? If i am thinking right it would be a closed center, but I have been wrong so many times before, maybe there is an expert here to help. Thanks Allan

You have an open center system. So get an open center valve for the log splitter.

I am by no means an expert, but I believe you would want an OPEN center valve.

A closed center valve would NOT let the fluid return back to the tractor with the lever in neutral UNTIL the pressure relier valve opened. This means your tractor pump and fluid is seeing MAX pressure all the time.

Open center would simply let the fluid return back without building ressure. Until you operated the valve at the logsplitter.
