3 point limited travel

First off thank you for checking in on this post/question. I own a Long 510, the 3 point arms will go down to about 6" from the ground at the rear joints but will only raise to just shy of parallel to the ground. In moving the control lever from the rearmost position going forward it will raise to a point then will start to lower after hitting the max height. Owning a tractor is fairly new to me and I am wondering where to start looking? I have been a mechanic most of my life and did a short stint as a agg field service mechanic but have not had much time on 3 points but as I recall they should raise quite a bit above parallel to the ground. Any suggestions where to start looking? thank you in advance for any advice.

Does your Long have the Lower Links connected to the Lifting Rods with adjustable pins going through stirrups? Lift changes about 6" at the bull's eyes.

K5wq, thank you for the link. I think I will start with changing the oil and cleaning the filter. Actually I think I will start with a bottle of Super Clean and the pressure washer, this thing has several leaks and is filthy from many years of use. I am the most recent owner and have only had it for a couple of months. For what i have paid for it with the BushHog 2020 FEL is has proved its worth...... how did I get by without one? lol. Almost every day I find something it makes life easier to do things.

Yes loaders are a wonderful tool! The good news is I think you have a good tractor that should give you many years of service. A friend of mine had a Long on his dairy farm that was a work horse. I was always impressed with the capabilities of that tractor.
