3-Point Hitch 3-point hitch damage

/ 3-point hitch damage #22

I see similar setups all the time and it bothers me. The turnbuckle assembly has a long loop on the end, but the eye bolt is turned 90 degrees from the position that would let the long loop slide through to prevent this kind of compression damage. What else is the long loop end for, but to let it slide through the eye bolt? But, the eye turned vertical would probably rotate to horizontal under tension.

Maybe a 3 to 4 link chain section instead of a long loop would be a better turnbuckle design.

Sliding bars are better overall, but I'm just thing about the turnbuckle faults.

Never damaged anything and I've been spinning all 4 wheels in reverse pushing on a box blade, ramming stumps etc.
