Does anyone have a 3 point attachment for carrying things that they are satisfied with?

I am going modify my tow sprayer to mount on the 3 pt. hitch so I can ease maneuvering problems in the vineyard. I don't need much weight carrying capacity. The sprayer will weigh less than 500 pounds when full. I see the one on Northern Tool and it looks good, but is bigger than I need and, of course, I'd like something less expensive if I can find it. I'd make one, but I'm new to welding and I don't trust myself enough yet. All I really need is a blank platform that I can mount components on.

Tractor supply sells them for about $120. It's on my wish list. They are basically just welded together angle iron with 3 point pins. Could easily be made cheap enough if you have access to cheap steel. Otherwise, don't see how you could make it a whole lot cheaper than $120. I've been looking for one used on craigslist. But, they are few and far between.

KK carry all with 1000 lb capacity @ $120, a few of old lumber if yo have or some new ones and you're good to go. I have gotten way benefit more than total $130 I spent on mine. it is a perfect platform for pump, generator, water tank or what have you.

PS, There is no way you can buy material and the consumable for $120 to build this. You'll a port-a-band saw at the least. I bough a batch of misc steel for the guys at work to make some bracket. I bought a few sticks of smaller than 2"wide stock and paid around $200.

I bought a cheap bolt together model - working limit of 500 lbs. Worked fine for small jobs, but I always seem to ask too much of my equipment.

I kind of overloaded it last time I used it, not wanting to make two trips up to the garage with the leftover bundles of shingles. Voila, instant pretzel!

Great carry-all JC. I could do a lot of things with something that big. It is a little more than I need for my sprayer, however. I want to build the sprayer onto the platform so I don't have to assemble it every week (grapes take a lot of spraying, depending on the weather) - basically that means I'll dedicate the platform to a single use.

I checked the TSC web and see the frame they have. I think it will work just fine. I'll check it out next time I'm at my local store.

Thanks all,
E

I bought the Tractor Supply model about three years ago for hauling firewood. It works great and was 99.00 at the time. Added some 2 x 10's and made it 60" wide like my wheelbase, then added some scrap plywood to the sides. I back up to the splitter, raise it to the proper level, split and stack - saves time and when it's full, I'm usually ready for a change so off I go to unload. Got some pictures somewhere. For the money, you can't make one that inexpensive plus the time involved.
