276D - Bizarre 3T84HA cooling hose

The upper hose on my 276D (3T84HA) engine has a shunt that returns to the block by the sender unit. Hoye Tractor has never seen this before. Believe I've seen a drawing of this arrangement in a parts book but of course can't remember where. Any help appreciated. Please see attached photo.

5min. download on dial-up. If you had a cab/heater looks like you could tie in there and get you toasty My guess, the kink hose is just plugging ports in cooling sys.(surely no/little present flow on that nasty kink)?? Maybe some kind of add-on??

I'm off to the hardware store to see If I can piece together a T and use the standard upper radiator hose. Great idea for a cab heater though and now I'm thinking radiant heat for the seat... Will repost smaller pic when when I get to a fast connection. Thanks,
