I am looking for some pointers regarding a 2006 2615. I have not seen the tractor yet, as I am currently deployed. So far this is what the owner has told me about the tractor:

The tractor has 550 hours, FEL and a mower (don't know what kind).

1. I've had the tractor for around two years.
2. I took it in to the dealer where I had purchased it last fall. It was overheating and they replaced the head gasket. They also changed the oil while they had it. I have the paperwork here, which I will locate for you. I used the tractor to plow the drive and mow since then and haven't had any issues. I've also changed the air filter and have a replacement fuel filter which I will provide with the tractor.
3. As for current issues, I replaced the original battery approximately three weeks ago but no other issues.

What other questions or things should I be looking for? I have 10 acres and will use the tractor for mowing, taking care of my driveway and general work around the property. He is asking below $10k.

Thanks,

I have a 2004 2615HST myself. A friend of mine sold his 2006 2615HST w / loader last fall for 11,500 which included a brush hog and only had 200hrs. The one you are looking at sounds like a good deal. It has a new battery and he had the dealer repair it. Check to see how many hours he put on it since the repair to make sure everything is still fine. 550 hrs. is not a lot of hrs. I take care of 3 properties with mine totaling 29 acres. Only issues I've had were glow plug replacement (2x since new) and a new battery.

You will want the dealer to make sure all of the loader mounting bolts have been coated with blue locktite, and torqued to correct specifications. In addition, if your rear tires haven't been filled with liquid; see if the dealer will have it done. The extra weight is vital for good traction if you are doing any loader work without the mower mounted.

I have an 06 2615 and have been pleased with it. Had 220 hours when I bought it and now has 363 hours with no problems. I would want to know how long the motor was run hot. Sounds like a fair price.

Well I went and test drove it, thought about it for a couple of days and today decided to buy it. I got it for $7.5k out the door.
