Hello everyone,
My new 2520 just arrived this morning!!...:). This thing is awesome and worth every penny and then some. I'm so glad I went for the 2520 or the 2305, even though the 2520 is a little "more machine" than I need, but what the heck, you only live once. So far I've logged only about 1.5 hours in the seat, but that'll change shortly. Anyways, here are some pics, none of which have me in the seat.

So, are flip-flops legal footwear for a tractor?:D I hope she never has to make a panic stop and stubs her toes in the process. Enjoy your tractor. Looks real nice.

Yeah, they came as a dealer-installed option..:D. I'm not worried about her having to make a panic stop since her first time behind the wheel will probably be her last. She's thinks the tractor is awesome, but driving it isn't "her thing".

I hope so. Can't wait to fab-up a plow set-up like yours for the winter.

Have you put up a warning sign at the front of the garage door that says: PUT ROPS DOWN BEFORE ENTERING!!!!. This might help until you get used to it. I assume there is a clearance issue with the ROPS in the "up" position.

It is a real rude awaking when the ROP's contacts the brick above the garage door. But its even worse situation if you put the ROP's up inside the garage to work on the tractor, and forget to put the ROP's down. That was a real disaster!

No sign yet. I back it into the garage, that way I have to look behind me and if the FROPs aren't down, I'll know it.

No you won't, you'll still back in with the ROPS up! At least I did.
I have a large overhang on one of my barns that I use to park the backhoe when it is off the tractor. I need to lower the ROPS to back in and then lift the ROPS to remove the backhoe, then lower the ROPS to drive out. In all cases of removing the backhoe I have forgtten to do the correct movment of the ROPS at one point or the other. Liked to rip the hand guard off the backhoe backing in to attach the backhoe with the ROPS down.

rtm038,

Congratulations, she looks great! I think you'll be pleased with your selection.

You might think about switching the rear wheels to the wide position for more stability. I think Deere recommends this for tractors with loaders on them.

Best of luck with your machine.

Have fun.

Know what you mean Gizmo. I have a sign I now use when I raise the ROP's inside the garage. The sign clips onto the steering wheel so I won't forget and back out of the garage with the ROP's up and tear the garage door down on top of my head again!

Thanks!

The tires are pretty far outside the fenders already. I guess this is not the "wide" position?

rt,

You can tell they are in the narrow position because the inner portion of the wheel (near the lug nuts) is convex. If you switch the wheels side-to-side, the center will be concave and gains you an inch or so of width.

I'm kind of surprised the tires clear the backhoe foot platform on the narrow setting. They must be really close to the corners.

Oh, O.K. I'll have to check that out.

Congratulations,

Great looking machine. I'm still impressed with the power of the 46 backhoe.
Enjoy!!

What is the "Thermos" like thing mounted to the ROPS? I've seen this before, but mine doesn't have this.
Anyone know?

congads on the sweet machine, you'll love it. The ROPS can be easily forgotten, and I do the WRONG thing.....I never put it up.

RE: thermos - It's for the owner's manual. I can just see somebody driving along, opening the "thermos", getting the manual out and reading it while brush hogging or something.

Lawyers gone wild....again.

Put some ice in the manual holder "thermos", drop in a drink and a zip locked sandwich and you have your lunch in the field with you. Works great!
