Jim is definitely getting bored! Maybe he needs to go to the Kubota dealer to get another tractor. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Don't even suggest such a thing, Wen! As proud as JimBinMI is of that little blue toy, can you imagine what we'd have to put up with if he ever got a real tractor, like a Kubota?/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Re: Not Bored!

Wen,

I spent a couple hours on the Mighty TC18 yesterday using the rear scoop to take sod and top soil out of a low area at one end of my barn so I can get some fill in there and build it up.

As you cut sod and soil, you create ruts, well, I wasn't hanging on to the steering wheel real tight with my left hand, hit a rut and the tires whipped around and my left thumb got stretched out, still kinda hurts! [sad] I DID WEAR MY SEATBELT ALL OF THE TIME!

Guess I'm just a big whimp...don't know if it's sprained or what, feels a little better today than yesterday, no swelling.

Mainly, I've been taxi driver for my two kids for the last two weeks, between driver's training and basketball camp, I make about 4-6 round trips a day to the school...it's 10 miles away and gas is $2.029/gallon!

Definitely NOT bored yet, but ALWAYS like looking at tractors, mainly BLUE ones but the others are OK too! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Re: BLUE!

Bird,

You should have seen me last Sunday, went to the NH lot and drooled, then stopped in the Kubota dealer just for the heck of it. There was a guy walking around looking at the L series that struck up a conversation with me so I proceeded to inform him of why he was on the wrong lot! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif When he pulled out he was heading toward the NH dealer! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Also, after looking at the B2710 close-up now I know why people need bigger Kubota's! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Re: Not Bored!

Jim,
I know of sombody who did break his finger/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif but he place a steering knob on his tractor steering wheel...ouch.

Gas here is $1.56 per gallon, and has gone up 10 cents in 4 days also diesel $1.59 per gallon./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Come on Jim you know you want to say Kubota,/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gifand may your dreams be full of Kubotas as you sleep./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Re: Not Bored!

JimBinMI, that, to me, was a major disadvantage of the small tractors without power steering. My B7100 whacked my fingers and thumbs pretty hard a time or two also; never hard enough to still be sore the next day fortunately, but hard enough to make me learn to hang on tight to the steering wheel. Hope no real damage done to your thumb.

Whew! I thought our gas prices were high when I had to pay $1.499 yesterday.

Re: Not Bored!

Thomas,

As you've maybe read before, I looked REALLY hard at Kubota!
However, I got more tractor with better options and ergonomics from the New Holland dealer in my area for less money! And the NH dealer has always been great to me from the get go! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Re: BLUE!

What was it you were drooling over at the NH lot? I thought you already had the "perfect" tractor./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif But I'm glad you took time to look at the better stuff, too./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Re: Not Bored!

Bird,

Just for the record, power steering is available on the New Holland TC18, I just didn't get it! If I could go back and do it over, I would have waited for the power steering. You see, my tractor was on the lot!

Re: Not Bored!

Yeah, I understand. I bought the only B2710 the dealer had on the lot at the time and didn't think about specifying R4 tires. Unfortunately, power steering was not an option on the B7100, but it looks like Kubota is putting it on everything now, even the BX models.

Re: Not Bored!

JimBinMI, Even though you are a "blue" owner I knew I liked you and after your comment about basketball camp I now know why. I have two sons in high school and we live and I do mean live basketball in this house. And by the way I looked real hard at those blue machines before we bought the orange one. I have been very happy with my choice but I think the "Hollands" are good tractors too. glen

Re: Not Bored!

I know what you mean about wanting a tractor right now and getting that one that is sitting there in front of you. When we were looking we had decided on a 2410 we were almost ready to sign the papers when the salesman mentioned that Kubota had come out with a new tractor, the 2710, and he had the first one to be delivered in Kansas. We said "well where the heck is it" and he said it was still in the crate on the loading dock. We bought it on the spot and have never been sorry we did. glen
