I recently replace the oil pan gasket on my dad's IH 234 3 cylinder diesel due to leaks. Well...after install the pan seems to be leaking out of one of the pan bolts. Does anyone known what to torque the bolts to? I tried some rtv sealant on the leaky bolt with no luck.

Gasket isn't sealing in that one spot is most often the cause
torque on pan gasket bolts (any engine) is pretty low 5-15 pounds

most important is how they are tightened down
start in the center and just lightly tighten down one bolt on each side
then install all of the the bolts (finger tight)

Then back to the two bolts and tighten them down (almost snug) then work your way out from the center to both ends at the same time.

This will take 2-3 passes before they are all tight☺

Me if it was just a minor drip I'd ignore it :)

oil resistant Silicone will work BUT only if the surface is clean. Clean it with solvent or maybe gasoline then an alcohol swab.
