Take a look at the owners manual...If you didn't get one with your tractor, look at the online version on the John Deere website.

Thank you guys. This is a cool site. Went out to the shed to get manuals for all attachments and tractor off of the rops bar and by the time I came back into the house there is already a couple of replies!! Wish I had found this site a couple of years ago....I feel like I'm the only person in all the Dakota's with one of these smaller tractors. Sure does help to know there are others out there to bounce things off of. LOL in was up till 3am reading old post's and threads! Gonna go check the site glass now

Take note, if it's clear hydraulic oil it's real easy to assume your low when actually the oil level is slightly above the sight glass.

I've seen it here before, the guy then starts to add more only to find that now he is way over full.

If it's not dyed oil, you can buy dye and add yourself if wished.

Ok, looked at the site glass and confirmed thee is no visible fluid in the glass area so I found my answer. Gonna need to add some fluid. Thanks again you guys ~Iceman out>

Oh and the fluid is dyed red in color so going to stick with that as it I could see where the clear fluid would be harder to visualize in the site glass.

My Hy-Gard is dyed out of the container. Maybe they make it both ways. Before adding fluid, make sure you are checking it correctly. The tractor should be parked on a level location with the loader and 3 point all the way down. It should be shut down for an hour or so, to make sure it's drained down. It's normal for the fluid to not show in the window when using the tractor.
