I am updating from a JD 318 to a JD 2305. It should be in the last of this month. I have loved my 318 and will miss it. While I know that the 2305 is much more versatile, I will miss the 318 and it's ability to cut the yard. Of course, cutting is all I could do with it.
1*I am somewhat concerned that the 2305 won't perform as well as the 318 in cutting. Can any of you guys put my mind at ease? The sellsman said that the 2305 would do as well, but what else would a sellsman say?
2*I guess my main concern is the larger turning radius of the 2305 as well as the ROPS.
1*Let me see what you're basicly concerned about is the cut comparasion between a garden tractor and a sub compact right?
My wife and I mowed the other day. Her on the CC garden tractor and I on the BX23 sub compact. After we were done you couldn't tell which tractor mowed where.
2*As for the ROPS do like I did. Trim the low hanging branches/limbs.

It got here a few months ago and I love it. You guys were right in that it cuts as well as my 318 did. I enjoy the yardwork much better and even look forward each week to cutting the yard. Now thats a change. I did a post a few monts ago with some pictures.

Thanks JDFANATIC !
It's alot to keep up but I wouldn't have it any other way. I just don't know why anyone would choose to live in a conjested developement. In some ways I guess I am glad to have been born country poor.
