I'm trying to get Cat 1 implements onto my 2305. I cannot get the arms to open wide enough. I called JD support and their answer was to run out the adjustment all the way, which does open it, but not enough, and just makes it lopsided.

Is this thing not meant to hold Cat 1 implements, or am I just missing something?

buy a quick hitch for the 3pt.
or you could spin the lift pins on the implement to the inside.
or buy shorter lift pins.

I am not familiar with your tractor but there has to be a way ... can you take pictures of your implement and the rear of your tractor ?

You have a limited Cat I hitch. It should hook up any Cat I implement but may not have enough lift for some implements. With the sway links loosened, it should spread wide enough. Pictures, and dimensions always help. Make sure the implement is really Cat I. Some are Cat I/Cat II and you have to reverse the pins to change them.

Make sure your rear tires are on there correctly. On the 2305 and it's almost identical predecessor the 2210 the rear tires can be mounted two different ways for a narrow track or a wide track. Make sure you're set on the wide track. Also make sure that the mid mount mower linkage between the left hand frame and rear tire interfacing with the lower 3-point arm is not binding things up if you happen to have one of these. Even with the limited cat 1, at max adjustment you should be able to mount most cat 1 implements so long as the height allows the three-point travel to pick them up off the ground and they are not heavier than 400 lb or so.

Note also that some cat 1 implements can have the lower mounting pins swapped to point towards each other which may be an option as well

If neither of those give enough travel you'll need to go with the quick hitch option

Full set of pictures included. I tried removing the sway links and it's these points here that are holding me up:

Looks like you are at the limit. What attachment are you trying to fit up to the 2305? Have pics of them?

Have you looked for a quick attach (iMatch) that will work?

I was trying to use a homemade receiver hitch that I made for my old tractor (Jinma 254). It was a Cat 1 and it worked fine. I thought I made it to Cat 1 specs.. I will look into a quick attach.

Here is a video of a snowblower on the 3ph of a 2305.

Maybe the model specs for this Frontier will give dimensions of the 3ph attachment.

John Deere specs for Category I hitch for the heavy duty garden tractors. What are the pins set at on your fabricated homemade hitch?
