I've asked this question about the float on my 4010. Yes, the owner's manuals tells about it but doesn't really tell you what to do to get there.
You just jam the joy stick full forward. You'll feel it go into a detent that is float. You can still do the curl (side to side on joy stick) with it in float.
Sort of the same way for the 3 pt. It will float above any position that you move it to; you should be able to lift the arms by hand if they're not all the way to the top. With it all the way down and lever left there, the arms will float up from there..
Yeah, I got the manual and I did read it but It was picking the front end off the ground...I must not have pushed it hard enough... I will check it out again. I figured if I pushed it any harder, the **** thing would come off in my hand.
<font color="green">I find with my 2210 if you give the joystick a really quick push all the way forward past the detent the loader doesn't have time to lift the front of the tractor off the ground before it goes into float.
I'm glad to hear I wasn't the only goof when it comes to the FEL float. Just be bold and quickly jam the stick forward. You'll feel it go into the detent. Pretty soon, you'll get good at it and can easily make it go into float even before the bucket hills the ground.
Float's good for going backwards to level out piles you've dumped. It's also good for snow blading when level and going forwards.
