Lebanon New Hampshire gun shop has plenty now. 300 rds for $23.00. Walked by them the other day while buying a slug gun for deer.

Last time I was in the gun store it was $50 for a brick of 500. I was low so I bought one. CCI .22 lr 40gr RN 500rds 0021 has a brick for $38 plus $8.50 S/H.

WalMart around here doesn't sell ammo or guns.

Sounds a bit high to me.

I shoot for 6 cents a round. Especially Remington or winchester lower end stuff

I look for at least 1200 FPS when I buy..I have yet to have a fail to fire Remington or Winchester bullet in my Ruger 10/22

I shoot CCI Velocitors or stingers. High velocity, copper plated, or nothing.
If it doesn't say 1400fps or higher.....it don't go in my guns.

I like the CCI products as well. You should try the sub sonic loads. Great fun, and accurate as all get out. Might not cycle an autoloader, but worth a try.
