I have a 2120 and it appears to be sucking air. When I raise the bucket, it staggers or hiccups (hard to describe in words). From what I understand, it has to be sucking air on the suction side. I don't see hydraulic fluid leaking anywhere, but I don't think that's unusual for a suction leak. Any ideas on where it likely would be or how to find it. Thanks in advance. Scott

Thanks. I changed the fluid (and the filter) last winter and put only 100 or so hours on it this year until it started doing it a couple of weeks or a month ago.

If memory serves another New Holland owner had a problem somewhat similiar. He tightened his filter a quarter turn and his problem went away. You may try this prior to changing the filter.

is the oil looking foamed.. does the foam settle out or is it emulsified?

Thanks guys for your help.
To specifically answer your points:

1. 電on't have alot of water ( frozen? ) in that sump do ya? - doubt it. Problem started before freezing temps. How would I tell ? Drain it ?
2. 的f memory serves another New Holland owner had a problem somewhat similiar. He tightened his filter a quarter turn and his problem went away. You may try this prior to changing the filter. -- Will do. Problem started well after fluid/filter change. But checking tightness wouldn稚 hurt.
3. 妬s the oil looking foamed.. does the foam settle out or is it emulsified? -- I did check this after the problem started. No I don稚 see any foaming. But I was pulling the dipstick. Is there a better way to check?

I would like to note that one of the loader lift pistons is leaking and the end (whatever that痴 called) appears to be a bit loose. I did ask someone locally and he indicated that wouldn稚 introduce air into the system.

Any more thoughts would be appreciated

draining some oil from the sump into a jar after running it will tell you if it is emulsified.
