does anyone hear own a 2015 hst, i would like to hear a report on it. how loud is it compared to a kubota or massey. i already know from the spec sheets its heavier and stronger than other subcompacts, but if its loud like a 00 series my wife wouldnt like it.

I have a 7205 Cub HST which is the same tractor. I can't say it is quiet. However I drove a 7500 Kubota HST before I got the Cub and I can't say it was any quieter. I think the problem with HST is that you have to keep the throttle way up to get the oil flowing so the hydro doesn't groan like ****. Again the Kubota I drove was the same way. I like HST but I would buy gear if I was doing it again. I think you could putt around with less noise and use less fuel. I think this is an interesting topic and I would like to read some other posts on the subject.

i wasnt thinking about the hst noise, i was thinking deisle engine rattle like my 4500 (witch i love), i noticed the massey gc2300 has a very quiet engine but i think the 2015 is twice the tractor. im curious about price comparisons to.

The rattle in my 7205 seems to depend a bit on fuel. Cheap stuff= loud. Premium = quiter. I have been using cetane boosters and that definitely seems to help. Seems much less noisy with the booster. Either that or I am dreaming. I think diesel rattle on these small tractors is just the nature of the beast though.

Just so you are on the right page the 2015 is not a subcompact.
It is a compact.

i know its bigger, but it is listed as a sub compact. i think they are close in price range to but not sure. also that massey is quieter than our riding lawn mower. it had no rattle. im just curious if their is anyone who has tried both or all three, the little kubotas arent loud either. i havent been able to find a 2015 to test drive.

Where is it listed as a SubCUT? The only place I have ever seen it listed as a SubCUT was Bill's Tractor website. But then again the 3015 is listed as a SubCUT there, too. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I have a 2015 HST. I don't find it to be too loud, but it's certainly not as quiet as a typical car (if that's what she's using as a benchmark). When mowing it is definitely quieter than the Husqvarna lawn tractor it replaced. There was no way I could mow without hearing protection on that thing. The hydro does whine more when you don't have the RPMs up.

I tried out a Massey GC2300 and 1428v hydro. I don't recall either machine being all that different from the 2015 in terms of noise.

This may sound odd, but I personally like the sound of a hydro. It may be because I've logged a lot of hours in a skid steer... I don't know for sure. But it's music to my ears. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

bingo, thats exactly the info i wanted from someone whos drove both.....thanks. maybe my dealer will stock one one of these days. i already have a big tractor so this will be replacing a lawn mower so im more worried about a 2015 being too big than too small.

I'm very happy with mine, 130 hours so far and working great, it never sees over 2000 rpms unless I'm mowing then I run about 2300, plenty of power and I mow some steep ground (I have a 60" rear finish mower) I don't think it's loud at all.

1*Why not go to the dealers and start them up and see first hand for yourself?
2*That's understandable since it's a compact instead of a sub compact. One apple and 2 oranges. or is it 2 apples and one orange? lol
3*Most compact tractors are more tractor than a sub compact tractor. You should be comparing the 2015 with the kubota B series and the next series above the gc 2300 in the Massy line.
There are only 3 Subcompact tractors on the market
A-Kubota BX series
B-Massy GC series
C- JD 2000 series
All the others start out with compacts including Mahindra.
4*when I bought my BX23 the price for just the tractor was $8100 for a bx2230.
I've been shopping for a bx1500 and just recently got a price of $6200 on it with the 500 dollar rebate that brings it down to $5700
How do these figures compare to what you've been given on the 2015?
My BX23 was $15500 The cheapest Mahindra with a FEL BH and 60''MMM was over $19000.
5*It's listed incorrectly because if it's a sub compact that would make the other manufacturers compacts sub compacts also.

6*I have 2 d50s a nissan and a toyota trucks all are automatics.
Were they standard or five speeds I'd get about 2 more miles per Gallon
No way would I give up the automatics to gain a lousy 2 miles per gallon. No way at all.!

woah.......i have drove a kubota and a massey, love them both. havent driven a 2015 because my dealer wont stock one. thats why i had the questions. i know a 2015 is a size bigger than the others but its the smallest mahindra makes. like i have said before if the massey or kubota are less expencive thats probably what i will get. all three will work unless the 2015 is too big or too loud.
