I've been places where it was 1000 miles to town either way. I won't go in a unit bearing ride.

Stone Mountain on the Alaska Highway comes to my mind.
It's not quite 1000 miles both ways but when it's snowing & icy it's about the same.

This is one reason why I converted my 99 F350 c.c. PS 4x4 dually to serviceable Dynatrac front wheel bearing kit.
Occasional hauling of heavy slide-in camper is another!
