Working on a new kubota, trading up from my BX2200. Dealer has a L3540, in the crate from 2010. Says it is a 3 series. Claims to have all the upgrades as any new L3540. Anyone out able to comfirm his claim? What kindof discount should I be looking at for a year old machine (still crated)?
Yes its the same -3 as the 11's and dont expect much discount. There really arent model years persay. Its just serial numbers usually. No reason he cant sell it as new. Give it a shot tho.
I just got a "2010" GL3540 with the Glide-shift (not the preferred-by-many HST+) and the heavier LA724 FEL for 22k. included R4's, SSQA bucket & Woods RD72 3 pt finish mower. Traded in a Grasshopper ztr w/2100 hrs, which probably bought half the Woods for me. I thought it was a pretty fair deal, and not much of a step up in price compared the the still-crated L3800's he had in stock.
This is my first tractor with the great majority of hours planned for mowing work. Have some projects lined up for the FEL, but since it will be driving in a constant straight line quite often, the GST doesn't bother me--although if I sold/traded it that might become an issue (not planning to anytime soon--I'm a buy & hold type of guy).
GREAT great tractor. Probably quite a bit more machinery than what I need, but I thought I got better value for my $ by stepping up. Best of luck!
