While looking at 2011 new koita ck20 hst with FEL, dealer showed me a 2007 ck25 (manual) w/FEL for $13,500. It only has 15 hours on it and looks brand new.

Is this a reasonable price for 2007 ck25? Dealer is offering me a 60 day warranty.

Also what is good price for new ck20hst w/FEL?

Appreciate your help.

I would personally say no, it isn't. The CK 25 was discontinued because it just didn't have enough power for suck a heavy tractor.

A new CK 30 hst is about $18K and they run the free loader program all the time (it may wrap up after Dec 31st until the spring according to my dealer). The hst option is a little over $1000 if memory servers, so now you're down to $17K for the gear. The CK 27 is the next size down and now the smallest hp offered on the platform. I don't know how much less it would be, but probably $500-$1000.

So, for $15K - $16.5K, you'd end up with a 2011, 27hp tractor with a 4 year warranty. You'll easily make that difference up when you go to sell it.

I wish I had gone for the CK 35 over the CK 30, but I'm still very impressed with my CK 30. Depending on what you're doing, 5hp would be too much of a hit IMO.

No idea about the CK 20.

Thanks. What I liked, about the ck25 was that it had a 4in1 bucket with it.

Anyone know about a good price for the 2011 ck20 w/FEL?

Thanks for your quick response.

Well, a 4 in 1 bucket adds a lot of value, if that's something you want and would use, the $13.5K price looks a lot better once you add that. Don't get me wrong, the CK 25 isn't a bad tractor and it's still going to be stronger than a CK 20. A CK 25 gear also won't be far off a CK 27 hst in terms of PTO power either, the HST is great, but robs a little power.

You need to decide what size fits the work you want to do. The CK 20 is too small for me, but might work for you. I think the 4 in 1 bucket makes the CK 25 a good deal if it's something you want and would possibly buy separately anyway.

If you're going to do work like snow removal with a snowblower, you'll need the PTO hp and would really appreciate HST. If you're going to mostly use a box blade or do bucket work on flat ground, you don't need the extra hp, although HST is still really nice for bucket work. The CK 25 will suffer most in high gear, I'm not sure how usable it would be. Other than moving between properties, I've never used high anyway. If you will be doing PTO work (bush hogging, finish mower etc) and have hills, you will find you're looking for more HP. You may be just fine if your ground is flat.

Actually, the CK25 was not discontinued due to being under power. New emissions standards forced Kioti to make changes that resulted in a design that produces a couple more HP; that's all.

I own a CK25 gear, and believe me it's not lacking for power. I've moved well over 1000 tons of material while operating on some very steep slopes, and power has never been an issue; not even close. Overloaded bucket, big boxblade, scraper, toothbar, rake, posthole digger, 5" chipper have all been used to great effect on this tractor. It's a beast of a digging machine. The only reservation I would have with the power is if you uses require significant PTO HP, as in a lot of bush hogging where you'd want to run a 6 or 7 footer. The CK25 will handle a 5' bushhog just fine. In HST, I also would want more HP as this robs power from everything. And that's exactly why I went gear.

With the 4n1 bucket and low hours, the price is OK, provided it has the new style loader. It may or may not in that model year. If the 25 gear meets your intended uses, I'd try to get him down a little on price, or throw in some extras.

The CK25 is also a whole lot more tractor than the CK20, and is a better option at that price. The loss of warranty is the only issue.

On the CK25, I would require that the dealer cover the fuel injector for 2 years or 350 hours, as there is a known material defect that has been failing in these tractors at around 300 hours. It's been remedied in new tractors, but not sure in what model year they put the new part in. Mine is a 2006. The pump failed in 2008 almost exactly at 300 hours. Big expense if you have to pay for it. His willingness to cover this would a make or break for me on the deal.

The ck25 is a whole lot more tractor than the ck20. It is much heavier, more powerful, bigger tires and more ground clearance.

With a 4n1 that price seems fair to high. He definitely should have some room to come down. I'd rather have that CK25 w/ a 4n1 than a CK20. 15 hours is brand new too. I bet he'd take $11-12k for it and that would be a good deal IMO.

The dealer here in central va is selling it for the family of the deceased so not sure he would warrant the injectors, but I will give it a shot. I don't want to go,higher than 12k....afraid of problems due to sitting for almost 5 years.

What model would be the "new" 4in1 bucket. The original owner bought it new in 2007 when he bought the tractor (and tiller which I don't want.....the original quote including tiller was 14,700).

Ask for a 30 day warranty - usually will go for this. I'm sure he would take $12k minus the tiller. And I don't know what the new 4 in 1 model # would be but a couple grand - around $2k in my experience. But that's a larger JD.
