Hi all,

I need to replace a leaking hydraulic line (from SCV to underneath dash) and was hoping to use a steel line similar to the original. I am having trouble finding one online, however. Does anyone have a good source for these. I had replaced a couple of old leaking lines with the standard flexible hoses but I do not like the "mess" this creates.

Second question is regarding the tachometer. I have a new tachometer and cable but have noticed that the hours on it do not reflect time appropriately; i.e.: 1 hour on tachometer is 1.5 hour in real time. Any idea on how I correct this.

Thank you.

Some tachometers record "pto speed hours",
in other words, if the engine operates at 1/2 pto speed, the tach records 1/2 hour per hour.

Run the engine wide open, the tach hours match the time hours,,,

Is that your case?

DITTO on tachometer. Line under dash appears to have serial number break. What's your tractor's serial number? Do you need key 3 or 26?

Regarding the tachometer: so I change the oils and filters based on PTO speed hours?

The serial number of the tractor is 19xxx, the line is actually number 11 in the above diagram. Thanks for your help again.

On the lof yes change according to your manual. To my knowledge all cable driven tachometers use this method of counting hours.

I think the concept was that if you run the engine slower, there is less "load" on the oil,,
the oil will last longer "clock hours"
When we ran the 5020, it was wide open, or nothing,,,
that was just the use of such tractors in the late 1970's.

I would change oil on the tach hours, modified for excess dusty conditions,,, etc,,,,
