I will finally be getting my CT230 next week. I am one of the few getting the ag tires. Has anybody tried to use a 2 bottom plow on these? 3-pt or other?

Welcome to the forum.

I'd venture to say it should handle a 3pt 2 bottom plow, but doubt a pull-type 2 bottom.

Said to handle a 78" cultivator on the 3pt, but I'd not expect too much from the plow, as I wonder if you have draft control on the 3pt. That would be important for a 2 bottom plow to work very well. IMO.

It will surly handle a two bottom plow. Now tractors weight, and getting traction to pull tat plow are being the biggest issue. In average conditions, a 12" plow requires about 10 hp per bottom. Keep that moldboard clean free of rust, do not just plow and park it out side when done. Oil it down cover it up. Have you plowed before? A improperly adjusted plow, or people taking to much out in one furrow, can be really tough on a machine. A plow is one of man kinds greatest inventions. I plow my gardens 2x a year. What type of plow did you go with?

They have position control as draft control would not really be need or used on a cut imo.

I have an old 1 bottom trip type. It works fine but I'd rather have a 2 bottom and get er done quicker if it will handle it.

What exactly is draft control vs. position control:eek:

Thanx articatsopro for that link--I think I got now:confused:. Non- position control would be like your front end loader valve function. Position control would be like a normal 3pt lever control valve function. And draft control would be like position control with auto load sensing gizmos and auto actuators. When I refer to normal 3pt lever, I'm referring to the one on my CT335

Hey Duck
Do you have fluid in the tires? This will help too, but not necssary. I had them put in Rimguard and I have R4's. Pulls like a dream!:D

I have an old set of Ford 2 blade bottom plows, its a 3pt hookup and have plowed very well so far with my 230. I limited the depth with the top link so I don't dig too deep and take two runs at the field.

AS soon as i can get a deal on a tiller...them plows are out of here.
